Whether you’re a nervous learner keen to sharpen your turns on the snow, or a seasoned expert eager to tackle challenging back-country, booking tuition during your ski holiday is a rewarding way to make the most of your time in the Alps. In diverse resorts including Courchevel, la Plagne, la Tania, Méribel, Val d’Isère and Val Thorens, Oxygène Ski and Snowboard School deliver some of the best-quality tuition you’ll find. Group ski lessons for kids, teens and adults are complemented by specialist clinics in off-piste skiing, race training, ski touring and more.

As the winter ski season ticks by, we’re often asked about the best tuition options in our customers’ top-choice resorts. Oxygène have been operating in the Alps since 1992, and there’s nothing they don’t know about sharing their insight and skills with the skiing and snowboarding public.

We reached out to Oxygène to share a little insight into the courses and clinics they offer. Below, we’re pleased to share a few key details along with reasons to make Oxygène your go-to ski school this winter in the Alps.

What made you choose the wonderful resorts you work out of?

Oxygène chooses resorts that offer something special to their visitors like a fantastic snow record (such as Grand Bornand for its proximity to Mont Blanc, and high resorts such as Val d'Isère and Val Thorens), a luxurious experience (such as Megève or Courchevel), and/or a family friendly approach (such as Les Menuires, Méribel, La Plagne and La Tania).

What draws your instructors to work for you?

At Oxygène, instructors teach a variety of lessons from their very first season with us. They are allocated lessons fairly, and they don't just teach beginner groups. They also join us for the team spirit, small group sizes and the interesting international clientele.

What sets your tuition apart from the rest?

We always have in mind that people are on holiday. It is our ethos that if people are enjoying themselves, they will learn better, because they are more relaxed and open to trying new things. Our children's lessons in particular are centred around fun games and activities, so that kids learn through play and have a positive approach to skiing from the get-go.

What kind of group sizes do you work in?

In the majority of our resorts, groups are limited to 6-8 students per instructor. This is to provide the optimal environment for maximum progression, and means the instructor can offer personalised instruction to each member of the group.

How long are the Oxygene lessons, typically?

Our group lessons are usually 2.5-3 hours long. It might sound long, but we adapt our pace to each group's age and ability, and include a break for little ones. It also allows anyone not taking lessons (parents for example) the time to explore the resort whilst their children are learning with their instructor.

Can you give any insight into how people decide which of your classes is right for them?

We have a level-finder to help people select the right level in relation to their ability and experience. Our bookings team know our levels inside out and work year round. They are happy to advise anyone who is unsure which level to go for.
