Many people decide to hire a car and drive from the airport to their ski resort of choice. This can be good if you are heading to a resort where you will need a car, and it gives you a bit more flexibility if you wanted to visit other nearby resorts.
Car hire is available from the majority of European airports and leading car hire companies, including Avis, Sixt, Enterprise and Hertz. We always recommended pre-booking your car hire to avoid disappointment.
We would recommend that you check with your car provider that they are able to provide snow chains and winter tyres, as icy and snowy conditions can be hazardous on the small mountain roads.
There is typically parking in resort, but do make sure you check this in advance as you may also be able to pre-book a spot in a local car park. Some chalets and hotels offer on-site parking which you will be able to use for free, but make sure that you check this in advance with the operator.
